Just what the world needs, another method of traumatizing children.

Good news that people are leaving the church. Hopefully more people will stop being faithfools.

seems like pretty much everyone cycles through "church" and then leaves, don't they?

And they ain't just whistling 'Dixie' either.
I can safely and most honestly state that amongst my numerous Case Files as a Psychologist and Child-Youth Crisis Counselor I have well over 200+ plus cases and more that fit that situation.
Thankfully, out of the 200+ cases, I have only lost 5 to suicides due to the Traumas, etc, imposed/created by Religions and Religious Zealotry, etc, etc.
But each loss still stings and hurts me every single day,I often sit and think, re-think as to WHAT if anything I could have either differently or better to save such young lives from dying needlessly.

That article does not surprise me. Moreover, it defines one of the reasons why I am so hostile to every God Mobster on the planet.

well fwiw the Bible very plainly tells everyone to run, run like the wind away from established religion; more than one way too. Not that i'm not sympathetic to the traumatized, but it is pretty much self-inflicted?

@bbyrd009 I may be misunderstanding your question. My own understanding is that it is children being indoctrinated by their elders and so called betters that is the cause of the trauma described in the article.

@anglophone welcome to childhood? I mean why is she seeking counseling rather than just avoiding those places, iyo

iow why be traumatized/hostile when you can just leave/ignore? Why rent them the head space? Financial predators all up in your shit, you still using dollars right 🙂

@anglophone Going by my somewhat extensive cases from over the 20+years as a Counsellor and Psychologist I'd agree with you 110% on that point.

Interesting. I'm quite sure there are many many more out there in worse shape than the woman in the article. She, unlike many, saw what was going on at age 24. It seems the younger your break, the better hope you have to overcome (bad pun not intended, but lived with).
