Why does Demo Senator Manchin from West Virginia want to keep the filibuster?
Because with it his small state can defeat a pending bill by talking that a coalition of large states has to vote to defeat.

Just like Collins from Maine they are spineless and short sighted. She could have brought Kavanaugh and Trump down and gone down in the history books as a person of character and Manchin and Sinema could go down in history for helping to get rid of the filibuster and opening the door for major changes we need to save and improve this country and maybe saving our democracy.

Conversation and discussion are the best means of education and progress. Filibustering is an absence of same, replacing them with an inert filler.

senator Manchin is considered the Democrats swing vote. That means he'll be able to trade some legislation to help his state keep up the production of dirty coal. He can then tell the coal miners that they're not going to have to change jobs and that they can keep doing a job that will eventually kill them with black lung. Most importantly the mine owners can continue to get rich and send him big campaign contributions.

@OldMetalHead Interesting. New Jersey’s governor appoints all state officers so it’s probably among the most corrupt.
Do you know which other states qualify?
In the 33 states that don’t have the direct initiative, referendum and recall, voters are least able to remedy corruption.
@OldMetalHead I’ve searched on “what are america’s most corrupt states” and got varied lists, some of which require wading through acres of ads.
