Just watched a hilarious high school girls road trip comedy, "Plan B." What makes it different is it's about two girls of color. The subject is crucial for women: control over our own bodies.
Daughters of immigrants from India and Mexico, they go on a desperate search across North Dakota for Plan B, the morning-after pill. They get refused by a local pharmacist citing a "conscience clause." "Oh no! It's the India Mafia. He'll tell my mother."
"Make good choices!"
Shuttered Planned Parenthoods, pharmacist morality clauses, friendship, crushes, desperation, controlling parents and mishaps while searching across the state before the 24-hour window closes. A funny, heartfelt, moving and touching movie.
On Hulu.
I watched this comedy and I thought it had a message. Women's healthcare is needed and I liked the ending as the girl finally talked to her mother. Good movie.
Like you, I loved the ending. Hilarious!
I hate how women have to jump through so many hoops for basic health care.
