For further background, I am trying to live as environmentally responsible as possible.

Since moving into my current home in December of 2016, I have had ALL the lawns removed and re-landscaped with native plants on drip watering. This has reduced my water useage by over 75%.

I have also added solar photovoltaic panels on a free-standing support system in my backyard, which now makes my electricity use...NET POSITIVE! I have a 9 kWh system, by the way since this is a 3900 Square Foot 2 story, 5 bedroom, 5 bath abode. I don't like the volatility of the stock market, so I treat my home as my major "investment" which is in my trust for later value disbursement to my high school and other educational programs for scholarships.

And I drive an electric car...and electric bike as well. I am on my 5th electric car experience. I started with a 2011 Volt and Leaf (as at that time my wife was still alive and we were a "2 car working family). Later migrated to a 2014 Volt when the lease was up on the 2011 and migrated from the Leaf to a 2013 Tesla Model S 85 to replace the Leaf. With the passing of my SO in 2014 downsized to a one-car situation and sold the Volt to keep the Tesla and then sold the Tesla in 2015 to migrate to a new 2015 Dual Motor Performance version Model S which I later upgraded from "Insane" power to "Ludicroous" power.

Clearly cars are my indulgent weakness, so I am waiting for the production of the AWD Performance version of the smaller Tesla Model 3, which I will get when it is available and sell this P85DL Model S. I seem to be helping OTHERS afford electric cars by getting more used cars into the marketplace.

Man, you are so interesting, we could talk for hours.
I was chasng an electric bike yesterday, am tossing up the need, I have pushbikes but getting older. Electric cars are slow to take off here, have met with some Tesla guys re both cars and batteries but at his stage, I am saving for my next and last car, the electric Kombi due in 4 years. My son and I will share it and he will keep it when I shuffle off. Looking forward to hearing lots from you.

Check Las Vegas, NV. A lot of houses instead of grass, use rocks and stones. And believe me, they don't look as bad as it sounds.
