Sorry being bored and alone is no fun. The best thing I think, is just get out , even if it is only to the next town for a coffee and a long walk, help you think things through as well, and gives you something fresh to write your friend about.

For me, the big picture is that, I am playing out the last couple of months of my working life before retirement, and trying to plan a new adventure or two when freedom comes. While right now today, am just finishing breakfast and getting ready to take an elderly friend, who can no longer drive, shopping.

My daughter and her partner lost their air conditioner a couple of days ago so they're staying with me, along with their two cats, while they get a new one installed. It's a very welcome change after living alone for so long this past year. I hope feeling alone doesn't last long for you, and a welcome distraction comes along soon.

The usual trying to keep up with 2 gardens and preparing the house for a visit in a week from my daughter. We missed last year so it will be the first we've seen each other for 2 years.
Plus, my sister has moved to Bellingham, just north of me and my daughter hasn't seen her aunt for 40+ years so this will be a must do mini-trip. Also, some of us have accepted a plan by a local apiest to install couple of hives in an orchard I manage. This will be an interesting addition.

I started a new job about 8 weeks ago, new field for me. Learning lots, and so far enjoying most of the job. It's still customer service, so still dealing with entitled and other wacky people. Real life is keeping me busy enough, lots of projects done and lots more to do. It's summer so the garden is starting to produce. Keeping busy helps to keep the feelings of loneliness at bay.

I'm occupying my time by writing to some friends and playing musical instruments. Also, I just played Frisbee with my dog, who's really, really good at it!

I have no idea what your friends are doing, but I am escaping the southwest heat by visiting family and friends.

Right now, eating a slice of NY Style pizza. Earlier, shopping. Before that, chatting with friends online.
