The parents may not have been home schooled but by home schooling their children they are perpetuating their own ignorance.

Trust me. They're gonna do that anyway. But these days kids have access to all of the world's information through the internet. If it is forbidden at home it will be accessed at friends' homes. Parents will always raise their children to believe as they do, to the extent possible. And kids will always find a way around it if they want to. Some home schooling is actually better than public schooling.

@skado I disagree. Children should be mixing with their peers not kept at home on their own. One of the idiots on the facebook article said that the only textbook needed is the king James bible I know that is very extreme and there probably are some reasonable parents home schooling. but they are not teachers and there is plenty of misinformation on the internet that they would bot be fed at school. Just look at the garbage that our two resident anti vaxxers put on the covid 19 group.

I'm not arguing for home schooling. I agree it's better to let kids associate with others. But parents are going to influence their kids whether through home schooling or just role modeling. There are better arguments against home schooling. And still some parents do home schooling quite well.

Home schooling is much less common in the UK than in the USA and when schools were closed during the lock down many parents got a reality check and found out just how difficult it is,
