I believe that the evidence is pretty clear that a major advantage of having kids in school rather than home-schooled is the entire socialization process. Kids need to be around other kids to learn the 'rules' of life -- like the fact that no one likes the kid who throws sand in their faces. So if you want friends maybe you should consider this fact.

Yes I went to Free School like( A S Neills Summerhill but nearer home I did eventually go to a local primary t o cram for the 11 plus exam and was so freaked out I couldnt speak for the whole of my first day

Yup. A study that was famous in the 1980s showed that when there were only five students per teacher, students were able to advance to a new grade every two weeks, only working two hours a day.

The rest of the school time is just kids being warehoused, doing "busy work" to spare parents childcare costs and provide a feeding trough for the NEA from tax money.
