From the book,"Rosalind Franklin", The Dark Lady of DNA, The DNA helix conceived of by Watson and Crick was based on her data. There are those who believe she deserved the Nobel Prize ahead of them> and there is the fact that she was a woman in a man's world, and Like Einstein, jewish. Any chance of bias there??

From page 60 to 61. Her father was led to accuse her of being interested in nothing but science, in fact of making science her religion.

Rosalind in a four page response said, obviously my method of thought and reasoning is influenced by a scientific training--but you look at science as some sort of demoralising invention of man, something apart from real life, and which must be cautiously guarded and kept separate from everyday existence. But, science and everyday life cannot and should not be separated. Science, for me, gives a partial explanation of life. ... it is based on fact, experience and experiment. I agree that faith is essential to life, but I do not accept your definition of faith,i.e. belief in life after death....I maintain that faith in this world is perfectly possible without faith in another world...

I do not believe that faith is essential to life. If you get ideas of gods out of the way, it could be. I have faith that you are going to pay me for work I do. I could have faith about buying a new home or car. None of it does me any good if I am dead.
