Thanks for this. My late partner was from Iran and came to the US in 1977. She was 24 with two kids and didn't speak a word of English. 5 years later she had 2 abortions, a third child, got her tubes tied and graduated from a University with a degree in Early Childhood. Later she went on to get her masters. In 1979 the revolution hit and they were trapped. Everything changed and the Iran she knew was gone. her first visit was a nightmare. Subsequent visits meant wearing a 'monkey' suit and tip toeing around the 'morality' police. She once said if she stayed in Iran, with her mouth, either she would be in jail or dead. Even here she sometimes shocked people. So many stories I heard of being sent home with a not from her teacher complaining about something she either said and/pr did.

We must fight against theocracy in all the world in every way that we can.
