The US has chosen to run on a consumer economy (chosen by those who get the richest). For a consumer economy to continue to grow, it has to have a sustained population growth of 2.2%. Prior to Covid, the US population growth was 1.6%. Making women stay pregnant and children be born isn't working. Not allowing for more immigration isn't working. Without some changes, the US is totally fucked. With 25% of the government's expenditures on defense, one has to wonder why, especially with two of the longest unguarded borders in the world.

The whole thing here is a word salad because Abbott wants to be re-elected or remain in good favor with his GOP.
