While you're agnostic/atheist, if someone religious shares, say, the same political views as you, would you be prepared to put each other's religious/non-religious differences aside and work with them together to achieve common good?
Define “common good.” If common good means more big government spending and authoritarianism, then I am in opposition out of general principle.
The common good generally refers to facilities like healthcare services, public transport services, educational institutions, police protection and public safety, etc., etc. which everyone in a community can benefit from.
@David1955 nice whataboutism. Considering that Biden eliminated the cap on SALT deductions and progressives championing dumbass policies like $15 an hour minimum wage, which would benefit primarily companies like Walmart and Amazon, who is really the useful of idiot of the fat cats? A lot of spending needs to be cut anyways.
@Ryo1 Government healthcare? Literal death panels, rationing of beds, medicine, doctors, long waits, etc. no thanks. Public education? Public schools are a joke in the US. Private and parochial schools do way better. So called “common good” groups like unions stand in the way of educational reform. Amtrak is ran by the government and it sucks. Toll roads are just as efficient and well-maintained. If you like the police so much, how come you prog morons want to defund the police?
@Heavykevy1985 Are you diverting from the OP deliberately? My question is, assuming that you are agnostic/atheist, would you be able to cooperate with theists to achieve shared goals while putting each other's religious/non-religious differences aside?
You are fine with tRump doing it?
@Ryo1 no. I am just saying that my bone of contention is not working with people of different religious beliefs but those who disagree with on principle.
@Ryo1 I have met many good theists in my life who has disagree with about God but can work together to achieve goals. I also wanted clarification about common good, as in what do you think it means and what goals.
@xenoview This clown is a Trumpanzee.
@Heavykevy1985 So, what is your definition of common good? Maybe in your book, there is no such thing as common good.
@Ryo1 things that are non-excludable but competitive.
