@Ryo1 First time around was when I was with and in a relationship with a Catholic woman.
I told her of my Fee Free Crisis Counselling Services to Children and Young Adults/Youths, her immediate reaction and response was, quote, " Why do it for nothing, why not charge them and give the money to the Church, Churches ALWAYS nee money, those kids only waste theirs." Unquote.
Those "KIDS" she was talking about were either from broken/dis-functional homes, sleeping rough on streets, etc, victims of abuse, etc, etc, barely living a hand to mouth existence and bloody hard pressed to have a brass razoo between them to spend at the best of times.
The second instance, about 18-20 months later went pretty much the same as the first only this time I did NOT find out until we discussed my Counselling Services for the very first time that she was a Mormon, I'll leave it up to you as how that turned out, but suffice it to say it was very short and not so sweet.

The common good generally refers to facilities like healthcare services, public transport services, educational institutions, police protection and public safety, etc., etc. which everyone in a community can benefit from.

@Ryo1 Government healthcare? Literal death panels, rationing of beds, medicine, doctors, long waits, etc. no thanks. Public education? Public schools are a joke in the US. Private and parochial schools do way better. So called “common good” groups like unions stand in the way of educational reform. Amtrak is ran by the government and it sucks. Toll roads are just as efficient and well-maintained. If you like the police so much, how come you prog morons want to defund the police?
