Yes, I think both of them are.

The theology of greed

No, but religion -as always - is a great tool of control...so they use it

I believe that theology plays a much larger part of in Republican politics than in the Democratic Party, especially on the far right .

No, they're power and monetarily driven. I think if we could actually read their minds, the ones who claim to be religious or believe in God, are just giving lip service.

Your right. I just don't know why some people just don't see this. It's so ignorant to follow or vote for anyone based on belief. The most greedy play on this ignorance for self adoration.

No, they are driven by power and money. They may use religion to further their purposes, but it is not the motivator for them, although they will happily take advantage of it to control the masses.

No, just the Republican party

I suppose it depends what you mean. They certainly use religion as a tool to leverage public support, and this is especially true of the GOP. But if we're talking about genuine religious beliefs informing political action, I'd say not really. Even Evangelical Christians, who are oh-so moralistic and vocal about throwing their support behind pro-life candidates, seem to me to be using it as a tool of power and control. If we honestly knew how many atheists and agnostics there are in Congress, I think it would be staggering — but they don't dare let on that they're non-religious for fear of losing support, and few of them really care about religion one way or another (again, seeing it primarily as a political tool) so they "go along to get along."

religion definitely plays a part in politics no doubt but I think the most dangerous religion is the belief in the federal reserve dollar and boy, I do say that our politics are driven by money!

Any and all religiously oriented and dominated society is theologically driven.

I feel like it's more people who like to call themselves religious for the sake of social acceptance but I feel like it's a facade (to an extent) and they just really do whatever they want like take money from lobbyists to pass fucked up bills. i could be wrong but it just seems like wolves in sheep's clothing to me. I hate politicians.

I do not think you are wrong. Hypocrisy rules.

@McVinegar Precisely correct you are sir

Obviously the GOP is....the Dems, Greens, and Libertarians are mostly secular.

Vast majority of Dem politicians are constatly praising god. Some greens too. Any Libertarian who understood what the word means,.would be agnostic at a minimum. Folloers of Ayn Rand are NOT libettarians.
