A person who defines himself or herself primarily as "a survivor"Cheats himself or herself out of out of th hear of life. A "survivor" does not trust others, and as a consequence, is largely unable to create and sustain close interpersonal relationships. He or she is also unlikely to take risks or to strive to achieve anything, for fear of failure. Very often, the "survivor" operates under the principle, "Do unto others before they can do it to you." They tend to be control oriented and manipulative.
