The idea definitely sounds Orwellian to me…but though the concept is probably from around the 1930s or 1940s..I think it wasn’t framed in these actual two words “alternative facts” until Trump’s mouthpiece Kelly-Anne Conway coined them in 2017.

@Pralina1 For me, it was anxiety turning to anger, and then to hate.

I first heard it about Sean Spicer by Kelly Anne Conway. His "facts" but her explanation.
