HI all:

Note that I don't necessarily fully agree with the scathing criticism of Manchin issued in the name of the White House. My immediate reason for posting was that I was reading a link posted by at least one other, and I was finding it difficult to separate the news story writeup of the criticism from the actual primary source, so I thought I'd go and find the primary source so that we can consider it straight, and without the interference of a writeup.

I do think Manchin should be criticized for some aspects of how he has handled things, and am particularly distressed by his shocking and willful ongoing cluelessness as to the climate emergency (he and millions of others already have blood on their hands, and this is accumulating), but overall I am not as against him on this as some others here are.

The progressives were right all along about how if the two bills were uncoupled, that Manchin and Sinema would be there to doublecross them and refuse to vote for the BBB bill, but the party leaders, Schumer and Pelosi, wouldn't listen to them. Who's wrong now? Time for a third party and the Dems are useless for representing the common people anymore, esp. on economic policies.

Great statement. We can only hope POTUS Joe has a retaliatory bone in his body and makes JM pay for this outrage to Biden's honor. POTUS gave Prog's his word and they are not happy folks right now. I think that retaliation will come soon and will be funny. As to BBB bill, I'd strip it everything except climate change funding and increase all that to be $1.5T. Do this while on break and then put it on The Floors right after getting back. Dare JM to vote no. Voting Rights in March or April and 1/6 Hearings over summer. That makes a good campaign year.

At this point, no matter what Manchin does or doesn't sign onto, his legacy will be a degenerate whore of a politician, as bad as any Republican, blowing off his oaths and selfishly placing personal fortune ahead of the the country's improvement.

No party can succeed unless it embraces the principle of party unity on core policy, conscience vote on non core policy issues.
