I don't know why cats like to lie down in their litter boxes, but I have run into this problem, too. It lasted a couple of days, literally. Maybe they like their litter. We got our daughter a Bengal cat. It is the most beautiful cat I have ever seen. Do Bengal Cats Shed? Yes, after a few months, we were convinced of that. A variety of reasons can cause moulting. If seasonal molting is normal, then you need to be very attentive to your cat when she sheds unseasonably. The cat may be experiencing stress. You can find out more from your veterinarian or on the Internet.

That's a very misleading headline. I read it once then skimmed it again, but never found the answer to why. Seems like the experiment just proved that they are attracted to 2D "boxes" but gave no reason to explain it. Did I miss something?

Only that one phrase that said cats seek enclosures, but even then didn't explain why.
