I have sometimes posted a couple of my 'philosophies' in the past, I don't think I have done this one yet :
When I teach children to not judge a book by its' cover, I MEAN it.
I am not sure it is possible to do that, after all we all have likes and dislikes.
@Jolanta . . . a fair point
I was/am thinking about (for example) :
a) a Seinfeld episode where George being asked by his girlfriend "Are you going to wear that shirt? "
b) I only take off my hat while sleeping or swing/ballroom dancing. I contend there is NO RATIONALE for that "norm".
c) When folks think/say 'don't judge me' they mean pejorative. My 'philosophy' is intended to advocate against that pejorative wrt what folks are wearing.
ymmv
@FearlessFly I have not seen the episode. Not a fan at all of Seinfeld. When a girlfriend is asking you "Are you going to wear that shirt?" it definitely means that you better not.
@Jolanta LOL, I agree that is what it means, don't be surprised by me saying that, barring very special circumstances, I am likely to disregard that 'sentiment'.
(or at the very least argue in the ameliorative against it-- and successfully have in the past)
It's funny but when I was younger I made fun of older couples that dressed alike, Now that I'm in my sixties I could not care less about how people see me and my wife . We have a lot of matching clothes that we did not plan on having it just kind of happened and I for one could not be happier and if our apparel gives someone something to laugh at then...good! I hope they are having as fun a time as my wife and I are every day
