Wouldn’t the fact that Biden said he was going to appoint a black woman to replace Breyer on the Supreme Court be considered to be racist? I thought you were supposed to appoint the person considered to be the most qualified for the job!

I dunno, would the fact that Trump selected three very white, very Xian justices count as both racist and religion-ist? Especially since they obviously weren't the most qualified to enforce the Constitution, having shown a clear religious agenda?
In a very broad field of equally qualified candidates, selecting someone belonging to not just one but two underrepresented communities might be seen as leveling the playing field. And for bonus points, he's not doing it 8 weeks away from an election.

Trump never announced in advance he was going to put white justices on the bench. He simply picked the best available people for the job.
@trajan61 he didnt have to.... It was a foregone conclusion.... He picked those most like himself - unqualified
