I'm in the midst of the snowmageddon here. Job cancelled for today last night and it wouldn't surprise me if they also did tomorrow. It's a private school at the moment, grades 1-5. So far, ice underneath 6-7 inches of snow and it's not supposed to stop until around noon tomorrow.
I'm used to this being from the snowbelt of Ohio but this state has no idea how to deal with driving in this. My complex is plowing pretty well but each district in the St Louis metro region does their own thing. One may be well plowed, one may use cinders, another salts the roads to death. It's an adventure for sure.
Pork and sauerkraut in the slow cooker for later....yum!
Hope everyone is staying warm and safe.
Much the same in my area of Missouri about mid state. The difference so far is only 2 inches or less of snow but they say that is going to change. We have plenty of ice so I called in to work today and they said stay home. None of the other drivers are coming in so they do not need me, the lunchtime relief driver. Since this can go on until noon or better Thursday it is all a big wait and see as to what happens
We are getting is starting tomorrow. Already planning a "remote learning day" for Friday. It is a public school and the state does not permit us to teach remotely for covid (which is rampant) but we can for snow days. The superintends feel guilty that the kids don't get to play in the snow, so they make it a 1/2 day.
