This could fit in several places. Rereading a book “The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency” has made me curious about the author, Alexander McCall Smith. [imdb.com] Turns out this Scot has an amazing background including the founding of a silly orchestra ‘The Really Terrible Orchestra. ’I’m sure Marionville knows all about this character.

I’ve found it Jack! How fun it is for those who are participating to feel they are actually making music which is something they have long harboured a desire to, and well done to the valiant relatives and friends who braved the cacophony in support…that is showing true love! I’m sure some will never improve much, but others will if they have even a modicum of aptitude.

I didn’t actually know about this orchestra, but I do have a music teacher friend who started a choir for non-singers because she was adamant that everyone had some level of musical ability and it was just a case of finding it. I don’t know how that went and if she succeeded or not as it was a very long time ago and she left music to breed Labradoodle dogs near St.Andrews in Fife.

I did enjoy this clip and recognised the Edinburgh streets and the church down The Royal Mile where the concert was held ..called The Canongate Kirk, Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Philips got married there some years ago, and my father-in-law went to Masonic Meetings in it too! Thanks for the pangs of nostalgia for home!
