Rev. Sarah Skochko - Unitarian Universalist Minister
As some of you may have guessed from my name, I am a Ukrainian-American. I have heard a lot of Unitarian Universalists asking how we can help Ukraine.
The number one thing that would help is direct military support from other countries, including ours. In the absence of that, here's a short list of things individual citizens can do.
Attend protests and vigils; build visible support by flying the Ukrainian flag.
Donate to the Ukrainian military (see info below).
Call your elected officials and demand immediate and severe sanctions against Russia, including an embargo on Russian gas and oil, and cutting them off from SWIFT.
Donate to UKRAINIAN humanitarian organizations based IN UKRAINE rather than international orgs (see info below).
Be educated; don't believe Putin; be aware that you are likely seeing English-language Russian propaganda on Facebook.
If you offer a prayer on Sunday, please pray for the people of Ukraine - for their safety, strength, courage, and victory.

I view what is happening as a crime against humanity. This means that the entire situation there is shameful, however I will not be praying. I'm also not likely to be sending money to any bank. If the situation in the Ukraine does not improve we might all see our banking under cyber attack. I must admit she is very well informed.
This post would have more impact here if it didn’t involve ministers and prayers. Funny how religious people always turn to other PEOPLE for help! Where are your Gods to answer all your prayers!?
Prayer is not her main message. I'll listen to her message and overlook her talk about prayers as a minor aside to those of her congregants who pray. UU ministers minister inclusively to a diverse group.
It's a good rundown of information about the conflict and actions to support Ukraine.
