I just finished a book called "The subtle art of not giving a fuck" by Mark Manson. Very interesting read (well, I got the audiobook. Reading makes me sleepy. Lol) has anyone else read this? If so, what's your opinion of it?
I think this is going to be my next book.
What is it about? Philosophy or a subject in philosophy?
I've been meaning to check that out on audible! Reading makes me tired, too, so audible might work well for me.
Haven't listened to or read it. I mastered this principle years ago.
I didn't give a fuck about it.
Ha! ?
I've been interested in that book but haven't gotten it yet. I'm a huge audiobook fan and am constantly listening to something while walking or driving the car. If you think it's worth it, I may pick it up. How many stars from you?
4 out of 5.
I finally got around to reading (listening) to this one. I liked it! It reminds me of ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). I've recommended it to others as well. Thanks for the recommendation.
The only parts that bothered me were that I think he oversold the personal responsibility and entitlement angles a bit. That veered into the political in a way that didn't sit as well with me. What about all the factors and influence that push on people that are out of their control? I think we need to provide people with compassion and encourage self-compassion around those things more. Other than that, I liked it.
I to must do audio books or it's equal to having the flu makes me so fatigue after reading a few lines I can't stay awake! Haven't heard that book though ?
