. . . seems like that is NOTHING like non-authoritarian groups.

I think you missed it. it's often a very convenient circumstance manipulated and used by authoritarianism and bullies or any one who wants to be perceived differently than thier hearts desire. all society is guilty to some extent regardless of political leaning.
