Last check of my rain gauge at 4.00 pm today when we went from continuous steady rain falling to a break with nothing falling in the manner of rain gave me quite a surprise.
I figured that with the intermittent heavier showers after my earlier foray to check the gauge we might get a bit more but to now have a tally of 2.4 inches.61 mms of rain in under 24 hours here is quite something when our normal AVERAGE Annual Rainfall is a mere 10 inches.
According to both my records and those from the B.o.M. we have had a years supply of rain fall here in just under 4 months.
i'd guess that the 2 Reservoirs near town would have well and truly started to gush water over their spillways, the local Emergency Service would have handing out sandbags like hot dogs at a Sporting event and the School kids would have been climbing the wals because they were not allowed outside to play, etc.
Btw, Evangelfools' backyard is now under approx. 2 and a half feet of water and the rain has gotten its second wind and starting up again.
On a lighter side, has ANYONE the cellphone number for Noah, we may well need his wooden boat....LOL.

Just call Ken Hamm.

Shit it took us years to convince him that the U.S. needed him when all we wanted was to get rid of him and NOW you're suggesting I ask HIM for help....LOL.

@Triphid Well I guess you're just going to have to arrest me for cruel & unusual......

Feast or famine! One year the place is tinder dry and a spark will set it in fire. The next your neighbors back yard turns into a pond and the rain just keeps coming. Might want to find yourself some tadpoles to let loose in the pond. Iā€™m sure Evangeloon would enjoy the incessant croaking of love sick toads all night. šŸøšŸø

No need I already have a few green Tree Frogs who live and breed in my garden pond, they sing a nice tune together most nights.

Is there a danger of flooding?

No not really for the city but the creeks around the district are running at present, the ONLY time they actually run is when we get good and decent amounts of rain.

Did Noah "Know A" thing or two? And where is an Evangeloon when you really need one?

Evangelfool is a long way away thankfully BUT I'd guess he will be in for a nice moist and soggy in places welcome from his house IF and when he returns to it.

@Triphid There are a lot of creepy crawlies that love soggy and moist.

@Betty Oh I know and they will all be enjoying the environment in his house BUT thanks to the rain, the anti-bugs spray I use around both the inside, the outside and the perimeter of my house and yard has now been re-activated once again so IF they venture in my direction it WILL be a ONE WAY trip.

@Triphid Glad to know you'll be safe. I hope you have your camera at hand when Evangelfool opens his front door.

@Betty Well the security cams are all fixed position types unfortunately but I may be able to try and rig up a spare to do a bit sly peeking though.

@Triphid We'll just call you 007.
