Another one of my posts from Facebook, covering some of the most revulsive bible verses . . . . 1 Timothy 2:11-14
"A woman should learn in quietness and full submission.
I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.
For Adam was formed first, then Eve.
And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner."
. Well, that's a crock of shit. "Adam was not the one deceived;" Really? How in the fuck did he get condemned to death then? If women are not allowed to teach, what the hell are they doing in our christianized school systems?
. If woman are not to have authority over man, then why do men go to women doctors, listen to women nurses, bankers, politicians, etc.?
. This was but a cowardly doctrine that, out of fear, attacked women because the cowards feared women might replace them in their current privileged positions, as always, assail anyone who might contradict their ideology, and they attempt to relegate women to a lower level in society, effectively dehumanizing them.

Yes, Paul said this and yet I was taught that women went with him on missionary journeys. Others use this bible verse to explain why women cannot be preachers and ministers. Let me ask the question - is it possible to learn in silence?

The christian philosophy.

"Keep those women under the male thumb.

If you let them gain influence, they might prove to the world how shit we men are."

If their were ANY truth to the garden of Edan story at all, all it would prove was that the god of the bible was an utter moron as were the people who wrote about it.
Had humans been created originally as a parthenogenic species, it would not have been male or female, but would necessarily have had a womb, not a dick.

Same way women who were too outspoken or exercised any of their power were burned as witches back in colonial days of the US. Both this and the OP's other post about slavery are about the use of the Bible for social control of groups the rulers wanted to oppress.

Well...They must have know that men were so fragile to want to protect them from the intellect of women. 🙂

Yeah, well, it's all straight-up bullshit anyway.
Pretty much why I don't live my life according to that garbage.

Good of you to point out the misogyny and fear, though!
