I would say George Will represents a more intellectual conservative approach. He’s even an atheist.

I’m not a fan of Jonah Goldberg though he’s sometimes funny. He can take principled stands. His book Liberal Fascism was an atrocious play on words. Bleck!

The Great Agnostic Robert Ingersoll was Republican but far too long ago to have current relevance. Same with Lincoln.

I think they were assholes then like now. I hear old Republican whining asshole grifters complaining about how Trump has destroyed the Republican party, like those Lincoln Project grifters, and news hosts like Joe Scarborough. Blah. They're just pissed that the Trump grifters have kicked out the old grifters, who now moan about being real 'conservatives'. All they want is to go back the old preTrump grifting ways. They were happy during the grifting and corruption and incompetence of the Bush presidents, and the shit fuckery of the Republicans against Obama, including stacking the Supreme court and stupid wars. Now they're acting outraged that real conservative values have been lost. Baloney. Whatever classical conservatism ever existed in the US has been dead for many decades. These leftovers just want their old grift back, but a better grifter came along with his grifting buddies.
