Maybe it's because the British have a parlimentary system for their federal government, maybe not, but it does appear that their Conservative Party, which is their counterpart to our Repub Party, does appear to have a majority that are sane and honest enough to stand up to their leader, unlike our Repub Party which is mostly cowards and opportunists who care more about their own careers than our country, so they cave in fear to Trump's supporters, no matter how dangerous or deluded they are.

Oh, we had plenty of Torys that publically backed Boris to the end. Yes, a parliamentary system allows for more decent but sorry tbh the US system is awful. It has been a disaster nearly everywhere it's been exported to. Add to that, the big money donors (which the system via SOCUS allowed) and about 20 people pick who you get to vote for on either side.

@273kelvin You've got it. For every federal office, the candidates are already pre-vetted by the donors, except for the rare cases like Bernie Sanders, in which case the major parties make sure those candidates never get their nomination. Even before the Citizens United ruling by the SC, this was the case with legalized bribery being openly allowed in our politics.
