Our alphabet used to have over 30 letters; like Eth; ð, Thorn; þ,Wynn; ƿ, Yogh; ȝ, Ash; æ, and my personal favourite... the Long S; ſ, I say it's my favourite, because it looks a bit like an F, and William Shakespere used it in place of the S in "Where the bee sucks, there suck I."
