You don't TEACH non-violence with violence.

Another reason to continue the war against Religion. "Spare the rod, spoil the child"...how about..."YOU TOUCH MY KID, I HURT YOU REAL BAD"...my mother and step-father were sadistic fucks...2 1/2" x 14" Leather Barber Strop...Sliced into a Cat O Nine Tails...across the bare legs and back...Spanking was the easy way out for me...and they did it IN THE NAME OF FUCKING GOD...smfh ... No WAY I would ever allow that shit to happen to my kids...No way I EVER let my kids anywhere near their sorry asses either.

Good. Violence never solved a problem and never will.

R they still alive ? Pitty 🙄. Let me know when they die . Will celebrate .

@Pralina1 they are out of their misery...they freed up some air back in the mid 2000's I think...good riddance. Nasty, evil, twisted bastards.

I saw that few days ago and I was too mad to read it all . I revisited , and even worse , says that parents will have to list that as option .
So let me understand this . Little Jonny fucks up some how , and teacher has to say wait , let me check my list , here u are , yep , I can hit u .
This is absolutely ridiculus and dangerous . Kids can find guns . If Jonny doesn’t shoot that teacher one day , his best friend might .
Physical punishment is to cause embarrassment most of all . I hate the idea .
So I guess in Missouri parents can hit their kids at home too , right ? Wtf 🙄😢

I'm with you on that. You teach kids that violence solves problems then that violence will continue. They are out of their minds.

@Betty angry parents raise angry kids . And in schools , punishment is just humiliation . U can send someone home . U don’t have to lay hands or even exhange words . No point .
I was coaching basketball until up to covid times , recreational , young boys , the ghetto , volunteer for me . Once a father started screaming to his son bcz he did a bad pass . A sweet little boy w great personality . Called him names right there while game still on , and shook him and slapped him on the back of his head . Guess who lost his shit 🙄
I had him escorted out w security . That poor boy it was humiliated and scolded .
Two years later I saw him in another team . Same daddy screaming and been an ass to everyone . The little boy it was almost 6 feet now , and he was aggressive , not a good teemate , angry , selfish w the ball , and rude to other players . He acted they ways he was taught 🙁
That’s all that violence , physical or mentally teaching u .I was so sad for weeks and I still think of him at times 🙁

@Pralina1 Violence on a child changes who they were meant to become. So sad and unnecessary. If only we would allow children to be the best they can be. Wouldn't that be better?

@Betty agree . 100%

Well that's was a very nice summation. Yeah, it's dangerous and makes for more ugly in the world. Some break free but many do not.

They are out of their ever bleeping minds. Studies that were paid by taxpayers proves that corporal punishment cause more harm than good. This makes me so Ugggggggggggg!!!

Exactly!

The need to resort to physical punishment as a way of educating any child shows a catastrophic failure of understanding and a catastrophic failure of empathy by the adult.

Well, it did me both harm and good. It cured my losing temper, it made no difference to my school work and it made me as an adult have no wish to ever see again those who caned me, even if they were dying.

While my family was indeed dysfunctional, the one thing my parents never did was spank us. We were taught how to behave in public, it was around the house we could get rambunctious and bed time was when we challenged but it was when Dad raised his voice we quit, we shut up and got ourselves up the stairs to bed. Even when I was caught cutting class or got a very low grade, there was no physical sort of repercussion. I think my Dad suffered serious capitol punishment and was not going to suject his children to it.

@silverotter11 All of mine was at boarding schools
