@FrayedBear Have you ever read any of Prof. Margaret Murry books, a noted historian and social anthropologist. She had some "seemingly" fairly weird ideas about the royal families of Europe, their traditions and religious practices, dating back to the time of the Pharaohs that have held true until today.

Unfortunately the book in which she discussed this most fully "The Divine King in England: A Study in Anthropology" is almost impossible to get hold of having been out of print since the 1950s with even the British National library copy having gone missing.
