I suspect you're being a bit tongue in cheek Kathleen, but considering the vast amount of research that has gone into personality types and the number of different types that are defined, it's sad that there are people like Ms Ivanova, the article author, who think the complexities of male personality can be encapsulated within two categories.

Much as a dislike labeling people I'm happy to leave the "alpha males" to those who dream about that kind of man. I'd prefer someone who is sensitive and cooperative, and willing to be part of a team. If that's a "beta male" then so be it.

There are nuances to all types of people. In some ways, I don't like a controlling person, but in other ways I enjoy having someone come up with a good plan I can agree to or not, so is somewhat in control, but knows when it's best to let me decide in the end.

Lines get fuzzy and we all have to decide what we can live with and what we can live without. Right now, I'm good on my own.
