According to IRIS. "On average, Magnitude 2 and smaller earthquakes occur several hundred times a day world wide. Major earthquakes, greater than magnitude 7, happen more than once per month. "Great earthquakes", magnitude 8 and higher, occur about once a year."

i thought that about a cluster of earthquakes around yellowstone and beyond, a few years ago. i've read about how the waves in the mantle travel around the world, too. kinda like that volcano, with the explosive eruption in tongo, in january, sent waves in the ocean around the world.

Maybe, maybe not. I gather the north magnetic pole is moving, so something could be up... As sea level rises, the pressure on the crust underneath may increase slightly, but enough to require some stress relief (in the form of earthquakes).

maybe it's like when big celebrities die off in threes

Can we apply that principle to rotten politicians?

OK, now look up volcanic activity around the globe. This year has been extremely active. This goes hand-in-hand with the earthquake activity.

I would imagine there are earthquakes happening all the time around world all the time. If they are in remote areas, or don’t cause major damage and death, they don’t make the busy world news cycle.

Probably. Many are in the ring of fire. Last I knew, we humans can't make real earthquakes and there aren't any gods.
