I had both doses of Shingrix earlier this year and I don't recall any reaction to the shot. Lucky for me all recommended vaccines are totally covered by my insurance. I'm happy to lessen the chance of ever having shingles again!

The first of the two shingles shots hit me like a ton of bricks....the second one didn't phase me a bit.

I am unbelievably lucky when it comes to vaccinations. None of them have bothered me anymore than a slight sore arm. I've had three covid shots and a flu shot this year and maybe go get my omicron booster. Last year I had the two shingle shots and did not have any reaction whatsoever.

Despite that I know people do have reactions and I hope you're feeling better by now Glenn.

I'm glad the VA finally cleared you for it. I'd already had shingles before I got the vaccine, and it still kicked my butt for about 30 hours after each one. But it would have been worth it even if the vaccines were worse to assure I wouldn't get it again. I hope you're feeling on the upswing, and that it doesn't dissuade you from the second one.

I don't remember if I got sick from Shingrix or not. I had 2 shots and I got the 2nd shot 3 years ago. I can tell you this, my brother doesn't like vaccines, I won't say he's an antivaxxer, but he doesn't trust them for safety. He came down with shingles in June and it settled in his scalp across both eyes and his face. He's been suffering so badly, it breaks my heart. I'm glad you had the vaccine and make sure to get the 2nd protocol. A day or two of listlessness is a small price to pay. I wouldn't want to see you suffer like Paul has. You did good Glenn. I'm glad you got the shot. It works. Unlike the Zostervax vaccine it replaced, Shingrix is 90+% effective.

I haven't had the vaccine for shingles yet but I have heard people having reactions to it, hope you're feeling better!
