Happy October, all! Yes, I love Halloween season, but am even MORE excited that — after a two-year, COVID-related hiatus — the CSICON conference in Las Vegas is back! Time to validate my core skeptic and harvest more ammo to improve the Critical Thinking workshops I occasionally present. Vegas is NOT my favorite city by far, but I always meet interesting and cool people, discover off-the-beaten-track places to dine and visit, and find time to venture beyond the Strip to hike and explore nearby. Have any other members attended, or plan to? See you there!
It's 13 to 8 on that I'm too skeptical to attend.
Hope you don't catch covid.
Well, obviously I do as well! But am not particularly worried: I’m vaxed and boosted, am used to masking up if need be, and ruthlessly maintain a six-foot, scorched-earth zone around me at all times. Also, since May, I’ve resumed going to in-person meetings and some other conferences with no problems.
Not going. I am a recluse these days.
I respect that. I can be reclusive, but like people too much to avoid them entirely or for too long. I try to strike a balance, and find that mentally healthy.
