This is very, very scary, and T. must be dealt a crippling legal blow, along with his followers. They must be imprisoned where they can't do any more harm to this country. It must happen ASAP. I know we like to joke about him (because what else is there to do at the moment), but he is extremely dangerous, as are his sycophants.

It's all about the violence, cruelty, outrage, and the "Lost Cause".

The Big Lie. Honesty is an affront to the people. How did we get here? I guess there are many roads to perdition. I could name them all, but really it starts with poor education.

@Organist1 there have always been plenty of morons. Trump and Q-anon allowed them to find each other.

@BitFlipper True, and the internet, which can be such a good thing for sane people, although Hitler dud it without the internet.

Will not take ads so can't get it.

"Trump is betting on Q-Anon for his anti-democracy mob."

Well, the first paragragh is a "does not follow" argument. It doesn't get much better after that. That being said, Trump embracing QAnon ideology could well lead to very bad things. As a threat to democracy, dictatorships require the support of major institutions in society, and outside of his Evangelical base, Trump doesn't appear to understand that. Of course if Trump does somehow win the next election, he would have to sacrifice his QAnon followers the same way Hitler threw the SA under the bus (The night of the Long Knives) after he got elected to make sure the military supported him. The thought of major right wing Evangelicals being executed by the army at Trump's approval to secure his presidency for life has some appeal, and I suppose there are alternative universes where it does transpire. Scary times, but I still see Trump more as a symptom of the rot than a cause.

Corporate power plus right wing billionaires seek to control all and ever buy more to enable more wealth creation for themselves. Wall street through Blackrock and Vanguard control corporate purse strings where profit and wealth creation at the top is all that matters. All political leaders find themselves constrained by those who put them in power. What qualifications are needed for senator or congressman or so many appointed positions? None except raising enough money. Money controls it all. Some senators and congress members are absolute idiots but they say yes when told or display their complete ignorance without condemnation.
Good luck to you from Canada. Your only hope is to stamp out greed.

I completely agree. A lot rides on this election, but I'll be surprised if the Republicans are not in the majority afterwards, which will make 2024 doubly hard. We're on the verge of a one-party state, and if both elections go badly, the chances are better than even the Democrats will never be in power again. It's an extremely dangerous time; I hope enough people have woken up to make a difference

With people like MTG advocating executing Democrats in power, and dangerous ex-military guys like Michael Flynn on the loose, it is a frightening time. I am actually asking my son to register republican so he won't be murdered by someone. He lives in a very red area of PA. The coup will not go away. These people have a strong plot in place, and it probably won't take much to enact it if they aren't in prison.

Lol. You deserve each other. Your cognitive dissonance doesn't allow you to realise that you are each side of a stupid¹ selfish bad penny.

Who are you talking to, and what do you mean?
