A strange delivery yesterday. While I am waiting for his brother to write the check this man tells me flat out that he does not believe in transgender or LGBTQ in any way. His computer screen is on a page about it as he tells me it is not real and has to be taught for people to go along with it. What do I think about that, he asks? How do people learn this and get taught about it?

I told him that one way was that very computer screen he was looking at but also said there have been transgender people for as long as there have been people. I did agree with him that not too many people have known their sexual identity since the age of 6 years old because the average 6 year old is not concerned with it. He went back into ideas of it having to be taught, and he thinks it is big tech doing it, he says. Amazon and others are doing it.

As I'm leaving I ask him what does Amazon have to gain? Somehow they have a program teaching a boy to have it cut off so he can wear pretty and expensive girly things. Does that make sense? Reverse this and ask yourself how they teach that girl to go ahead and be a guy because she always wanted to wear guy things. This man and his brother have what I call a 1970 mentality but when I walked out the door he was still stammering and sputtering and not sure where to go with this. Some people just cannot believe that everyone is not exactly like they are.

Well, I'd say that fellow's website and media streams are likely teaching him how to hate folks who express their personalities differently than they would like, with the goal of creating divisiveness rather than inclusiveness.

I would ask the fellow what gives him more pleasure and happiness, to hate those who are not like him, or to just live and let live? My feeling is that if a person is not doing any harm to me or others, let them express themselves any way that makes them happy.

This fellow says he "doesn't believe in it" likely meaning he doesn't endorse it, not that he doesn't believe there are people who express themselves as LGBTQ. There are likely people who don't endorse everything this fellow does either, but that's what makes the world more interesting. So glad we are not all just clones of each other!

Exactly Julie. My take on everything today is live and let live. My mother used to tell me that was not defined enough. She is dead now but she was wrong.

I would avoid these people.

I cannot avoid these people. I have delivered auto parts to them for over 7 years. When I see them it is because I am doing my job.

@DenoPenno Don’t be sociable. Deliver and leave…”sorry, lots to get done, can’t talk today”. “Too many deliveries to get done.” “Boss wants me to work faster.”

Another example of how the US (the world) is falling into a pit of stupidity.

It amazes me how some people can just start talking to strangers about this crap, expecting that they hold exactly the same views. It shows you how limited their worlds are.

I agree except that in this case I deliver to this business all the time. We have to beware of things we say coz we might get reported. If I was reported I would claim that I was only replying to the words that they had said to me.
