Growing up, I was proud that the US prevailed in WWII and I was amazed by the ventures into space. I had patriotism, even though on a deeper level, I repudiated allegiance to country, race or religion.

What should be crystal clear now to every thinking person is this. The United States is unfit to lead the world.

And, the Human Race is almost certainly doomed to extinction or will barely scrape by for several millennia.

Well, as Woody Allen used to say, before he became known as a creepy pedophile, "More than any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to hopelessness and utter despair. The other leads to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly"..... Sometimes the only ways to react, is to laugh or cry (my own take on the Allen quote)..

Yep, I had always been proud to be American... until the last few years. Not sure if we can redeem ourselves, but I would like to hope so. The world seems to be giving in to tyranny, one country at a time.
