Just a little a little quirk.
I do InstaCart (grocery delivery) fairly often, and earlier this week I somehow received 9 - that's NINE! - half gallon containers of bleach when I was sure I had requested one.
I returned the excess for refund and the adventure was not over.
Outside of an adjoining business in the shopping center I spotted a state ID in the parking lot. Went back into the nearest business.
"Do you happen to recognize this person?"
"No. You should probably just drop it where you found it and maybe they will retrace their steps. "
That did not sound acceptable.
Ended up contacting to local police and I handed it over to an officer.
What's a state id? Car number plate?
In the US you need a state issued photo ID to do just about any life function.
Get a job - an apartment - a loan - VOTE.
It was not a driver's license, but it was the official ID issued by the same agencies that issue driver's licenses. It was of a person less than 21 because they are vertically printed to immediately show that they can take a bullet for their country - but not a shot.
Plus, a person with ill intent can create a false ID with this information, apply for credit cards, run up debt and have it be in the name of the person who lost the ID.
@BufftonBeotch Thank you. It sounds as repressive & controlling as any tin pot dictatorship anywhere else in the world.
I wonder how they do it in China & Russia?
