This is why politicians, like 45, use Chicago against Dems. It, and L.A., are now just scary. I'm from Hammond and my LDS brother always pointed out Chicago's crime problems. It is called The Windy City because of Daly's hot air, referring to graft, so it's not just the teenagers. IDK what to do about it but Lightfoot needs to figure something out.
That’s not all that far off from the news here along the Wasatch Front here in Utah. I’d like to hear what your LDS brother has to say about that?
I grew up on the north side of Chicago and nothing bad EVER happened there. But now, there are no good neighborhoods. You take your life in your hands when you leave the house. They have to do something about the guns. Used to be when people got into it they would punch each other out. Now they just shoot to kill. So many innocent little children getting caught in the crossfire. It breaks my heart. This is what happens when politicians forget love of country and focus on love of money.
@rainmanjr That’s a tough one about your brother. It’s just so lame when these politicians try to use crime statistics to demean the other side when the reality is, crime rates in Red controlled area’s of the country are just as bad if not slightly worse. This type of nonsensical discourse just keeps the problem going……..
@TheoryNumber3 In the end almost everything comes down to money but I'm not of the belief that money is the root of crime. Social poverty and lack of any other way out of it does. Entire cities are impoverished, now, and seeing our systems as corrupt. Nothing left to do but resort to Mafia systems.
@rainmanjr I have to disagree. Money is most certainly the root of political decisions that cause an increase in crime.
@TheoryNumber3 Crime occurs among people who have little to do with politics. As I said, money is a basic concept for all things, in some way, but it is not always the causational factor. Crime, especially theft, is an act of desperation.
@rainmanjr I think you misunderstood my comment. The point I was making was the politicians make or do not make laws that have an impact on crime, i.e. the gun issue. But passing gun laws would take money out of a politician's pocket because they're paid handsomely by big interests to decide in their favor
@TheoryNumber3 Not POTUS Joe's pocket. He's done it twice and is going for a third time but will likely not succeed with that. While his ban on automatic weapons worked (until 2002) we aren't seeing drops from this past year's legislation, yet. No gun law is likely to get through the new House so I wouldn't look for it.
