To a large extent human beings operate from memory and memory is useful, however, situations may present themselves in which our repertoire of responses prove to be inadequate.

Time is a social construct and a very useful one that enables us construct ordered systems. The past exists only as a memory and the future is a mental projection, all of which are useful.

I keep trying to tell people this but they insist that it does. That's why we have to "fix" the past. SMH

Terribly wrong. Our perception of reality and our cognitive maps are all based on past experience. experience

I read it as history should not define our future. The best example is everyone's favourite; religion.
