The past has no power over the present moment.
The only instance where this is true is when something is subject to the statute of limitations
You have been posting a ton of 13-year-old-ish touchy-feely stuff....this is perhaps the most foolish of them.
I can Assure you that forgetting the past Dooms you to repeat it.
Grow Up!
To a large extent human beings operate from memory and memory is useful, however, situations may present themselves in which our repertoire of responses prove to be inadequate.
Time is a social construct and a very useful one that enables us construct ordered systems. The past exists only as a memory and the future is a mental projection, all of which are useful.
Well evolutionary contingency would mean you are wrong. That an asteroid struck the Earth near the Yucatan region wiped out non-avian dinosaurs and set the stage for other groups to flourish, like us mammals. Like other vertebrates we develop a notochord and pharyngeal arches as embryos which happen to be our evolutionary crosses to bear. That a subset of lobe-finned fish came out of the water set the stage for land vertebrates.
That DARPA began messing with network protocols and GPS for military purposes set the stage for future smartphones with internetworking and navigation capabilities.
That you got sucked into some metaphysical belief system means we can expect more of the same sort of content from you.
What about PTSD?
Hi
@Charles1971
Excellent point.
