I saw a documentary about an expose—I think it was Boston Globe. One priest and psychologist said priesthood ATTRACTS pedophiles; it does not create them. At the end credits, they listed cities/countries with known abusers. It was staggering.

@CarolinaGirl60 in my state it was horrifying that until the mid to late seventies, state troopers were still entering villages and forcibly removed children to religious boarding schools. It came out that almost all were not only forbidding Native culture, languages, clothing, and behaviors and outright beating those who resisted, but also sexually preying on the male and female children. While the majority were Catholic-run, there were also Luthern and Baptist schools.

@Angelface That’s just...I don’t have words for how bad it is. Religion has caused so much damage, bloodshed, and heartache. I remember my horror first time I read/learned the truth about the mass, sustained genocide and abuse in North America.

@CarolinaGirl60 Yes I saw that movie. It was a true story about the Boston churches. By the end of the movie there were hundreds of pedophiles in the church.
