When Fauci says he is science or Tyson say is a scientist there is also a very strong opposing scienceist who also claiming sciences are on their side about vaccines. Why not world class artist like myself, the arts and culture has had more influence to mankind than any other profesion in long history of humans. . People sell out to highest bidder all the time in every profession. No matter what profession there is out there. Science is only one branch in the tree of life.

Well, you have a point there. The majority of people in countries where vaccines were/are available have looked at the statistics and wisely opted to be vaccinated. So on that point, maybe NdGT needs to clarify his thinking. He's not wrong if his comment is taken broadly to include climate change. On that issue, humans are proving to be woefully bad at thinking statistically. The stats all show that climate change is real, is anthropomorphic, and is a threat to human civilization and probably to the survival of our species as well as that of millions of others. Yet we are doing very little to address the problem. Many humans have allowed themselves to be bamboozled by the disinformation put out by the fossil fuel industry, casting doubt on solid science in order to keep their profits up. It's a spectacular failure on the part of humanity.

PS: He's also right about the social contract "thing." If you have a job which requires you to be in close proximity to others during a highly contagious and deadly viral pandemic, then you should definitely mask up and be vaccinated or get the fuck out. Period. Other people have (society has) the right not to be infected by you. Especially if you work for a government services institution, such as police, fire, military, healthcare, etc. Our tax dollars should not go to infecting us.

The social contract is a con. I didn't sign a contract to be a total obeisance worker for the Government, so they can take my job away. Or loose my physical autonomy by being forced to take an experimental vaccines that lab animals die from. Both are against the constitution and a malpractice. By the way, the vast majority of government workers were voluntarily vaccinated. Its only a small (but very vocal) minority who are, as NdGT put it, very bad at analyzing statistics. I guess if you were a government worker, you would fall into that group. Personally, I'm all in favor if you dying from COVID-19 if you refuse the vaccine. Just don't take up vital space in the hospital when you do, OK? Stay in your bunker and let people who need broken bones set, or chemo therapy, or bypass surgery, etc. get the care they need.

Nobody is saying the vaccines prevent infection or transmission. That claim is a red herring, a straw man, a distraction.

What the vaccines do very well is prevent severe disease and death. In doing so, they keep the hospitals from being so overbooked that people with all the normal issues we see in non-pandemic times can't get the care they need.

I alway go with the person with a diverse background, honesty and good sense.Regardless them being an all mighty scientist or politicians. Especially sciencist who don't admit when they are incorrect and get over paid like a Hollywood star.

Don't know how to compare apples and oranges. I doubt both high horse scientists in their profession. Have toured more countries and continents or won more international and world championship in their profession. Don't know any sculptor who has won more events. Yet, there is no snowball chance in hell, I would proclaim myself as Art, like Fauci proclaiming himself as science. Or even claim myself as the best sculptor in the world. Not even on this site can't claim myself any better or any worst than the next guy, judging by a lack of independence thinkers. Yet I know I do somethings better and vice-versa.
