He did not add that they will stop the war only when the opponent has been subjugated. They are causing the war, but of course that is a minor details.

What Putin the Putrid fails to realise is that he has already signed his own death warrant. It is now simply a matter of when he be killed, where will he be killed, how will he be killed, and who will kill him.

Probably by the same oligarchs who manouvered him into the presidency originally. He is no longer useful to them. In fact he is becoming a hindrance to the vast wealth they have exported from Russia.
