Very sad to read of you losing your pet but at the same time very happy to imagine somebody reunited with a pet they probably had thought was permanently lost.

A lot of shelters have started chipping just as a recidivism control. One of my boys came neutered & chipped. Took him to the vet as routine before becoming "my cat". Turns out he was chipped, but nobody bothered to register it. Needless to say, 3+ years later, he is mine now & registered.

I'm a dog lover, may not be good advice, just what I do. Get drunk, bawl my eyes out, and feel sorry for my self for three days, go get another one. Will never be without if able.

It's very sad, but you did the right thing. I am sorry you lost your cat. Maybe you can rescue another one from your local shelter? Big hugs. I know it must be heartbreaking.

Of course it's hard. It's like losing a member of your family. Go ahead and feel the loss, it's only natural.

It makes me wonder why she strayed in the first place.

Oh no!!! How sad for you. I'm sorry you lost your fur kid. I have three cats, Comet, Binky, and Bunny. I don't know if I could stand what you just went through. I spend time at a no kill cat shelter. I get attached to some of the cats, but they have a pretty strict vetting process, so I know they've gone to a good home when they leave. They won't even put down the angry, hateful, mean ones. We just work with them. I hope you are able to find another fur kid. There's one out there looking for you.

Aren't you required over there to get strays chipped when they arrive?
