Do you know why there was never a coup in the United States?
Because there is no US embassy there.

It would be funny if there wasn't literally a coup attempt 2 years ago.

Which is why it's funny. Coup's are organised, rabbles are not.
What do you think about footage aka evidence being withheld from defense lawyers by the state who are charging defendants with treason/ insurrection? Because if you or I did it, we would be charged with withholding evidence and contempt of court.

@puff First of all, as much as I'd love it, no one is getting charged with treason. But I haven't heard the government is denying discovery, only that those whiny, seditious, racist bitches didn't like the way it was done. Also, it's not being withheld from the attorneys. The traitors to our country are the ones that are having difficulty accessing it, but their lawyers have full access. Maybe those fucking idiots can represent themselves and then they'll be the ones with unfettered access as guaranteed by law.

@ChestRockfield Wrong. Footage was withheld from defense lawyers for security reasons.

@puff Source?

@ChestRockfield An interview with the "Shamans" defense lawyer. They requested it but were denied because of "national security". The judge who sentenced him to 4 years described him as "violent" in closing statement/ sentencing. The video from inside the building disputes this so it is very important and may have lessened his sentence. You don't think you would see that on US TV do you? Maybe Fox, which is why they want it gone. No fan of Murdock but alternate media views is important. Otherwise, it's just a big echo chamber.
It was on one of those alternate media sites that interview people like that. Maybe redacted? Can't remember.

@puff He attacked the capitol and carried a six foot flag pole with a 6 inch sharpened spear at the top. Was one of the first 30 people to break in with that weapon in one hand and a bull horn in the other he used to whip idiots into a frenzy. He left a threatening note about justice coming for Pence. Yeah, not violent at all.

That little bitch boy who "needs" organic food could have been sentenced to 5 years, so 41 months is hardly "throwing the book at him". Sorry, but the minute they broke in the proceeding was obstructed, anything after that can't be exculpatory.

"Obstructing Congressional or Administrative Proceedings (18 U.S.C. 1505) Section 1505 outlaws obstructing congressional or federal administrative proceedings, a crime punishable by imprisonment not more than five years (not more than eight years if the offense involves domestic or international terrorism)."

@ChestRockfield He was released from prison today, now in a halfway house

@puff While I'd have preferred that piece of traitorous shit spend the rest of his life in prison, obviously he was going to get out sometime. People get out early. They already said it has nothing to do with the video.

@ChestRockfield The thing is, they would say that so I think we will never know. If he stayed in jail he would be advised to push for a retrial as new evidence has come to light. If overturned, he could have then sued for a shit load of compensation.
He was facing a possible 20+ years and in the plea bargain, pretty sure he signed his rights away.

@puff He was not facing 20+ years. Do you even read my replies? I actually found the statute he was charged with and it clearly states not more than 5 years.
Furthermore, you don't seem to have a firm grasp on how the justice system works (or doesn't work if you prefer). They don't just let people out of prison without an appeals process, and even if they did/ could, it wouldn't stop an appeals process as evidenced by the fact that he filed an appeal yesterday to have his conviction vacated.
Finally, no new "evidence" has come to light. As far as any rational person is concerned, he still attacked the capitol and obstructed the proceeding which is exactly what he was charged with and convicted of. Anything that happened after, is irrelevant. That would be like someone going into a bank and pulling out an uzi and then saying at trial, "But your honor, after my client pulled an automatic weapon out in the bank, tellers just lead him to the vault and gave him the money in their drawers without him even asking for those things so he's obviously not guilty of any crime!" That's fucking idiotic.
