So on the news yesterday you may have seen the huge Black billows of smoke on I-95/ Gold Star Bridge from a fuel truck explosion? just over a mile, as the crow flies, from my house, thankfully i am upwind. the terminal where those trucks get filled can be seen from the end of my short dead-end street. the stretch of Interstate the bridge is part of is, i believe, considered the busiest in the county...now closed as the heat from the furiously burning propane melted metal & concrete & the bridge's structural integrity is most likely compromised, it may remain closed for months.
What a mess, and apparently caused when a car in an adjacent lane had its tire blow apart. The fuel truck involved was the smaller type that actually delivers the propane to homes, i cannot imagine what one of those huge tanker trucks blowing up would be like.....feeling a bit wobbly today, and also trapped on this side of the river.

Seems to be a regular occurrence on 95. They had a tanker explosion between Philly and Wilmington a few years back destroyed a bridge. Had traffic narrowed to one side for a year! Hopefully yours won’t take as long.
