Why in the hell would the idiotic Biden administration want to ban the animal tranquilizer Xylazine?? If they do that how are we going to handle the cattle that get out or go crazy?

I'm assuming this was posted as some sort of ironic joke by the OP? No one has suggested banning Xylazine, and the comment about crazed certainly implies the OP couldn't even be bothered to Google what it's used for. (Hint: Not for sedating crazed or escaped cattle.) Of course right wingers love to be outraged over nonsense, so I guess this post is an example of that?

Obviously you don’t even know what in the hell your talking about as we’ve used that very drug in dart guns to sedate hundreds of escaped or crazy cattle over the years. I don’t need to google it as I have a lot of experience using it for that very reason.

@Trajan61 Growing up on a farm myself, I know for a fact that it is used for just such situations. Obviously Druvius doesn't know didly about running a farm with large livestock. Once again he shows why he's on my 'ignore' list. He's just too ignorant to pay any attention to. Same with that Annewimsey person below. 🙄

Okay, I can see your concern and I can also see their reasoning. From what I can see it is not a ban per see rather than restricted use. Now I also bow to your inside knowledge but the only animal tranquilizer I know is ketamine and we can both see how the state would not want that available over-the-counter.
So this is a classic discussion of regulation vs free market. Most of the time these things are sorted out by some sort of compromise. Unfortunately, one side seems to be more intent on pursuing more important matters like M&Ms, gas stoves, drag queens and Hunter Biden's dick pics. This is what you get when you allow the likes of MTG to be the driving force in the party that is supposed to represent your interests.

It’s never been over the counter as we’ve always had to get it from vets but the vets are concerned they may not be allowed to sell it to us anymore if Biden’s administration gets its way.

@Trajan61 Okay, that sounds like a case for political dialogue. Take a look at your party and honestly ask yourself "Are these guys going to do battle for me on issues that affect my life or are they too busy pursuing their own political agenda?" If you think that perhaps you might favour a party that concentrates more on winning the next election than arguing about the last. That focuses on policies rather than culture wars and where business/agriculture has a bigger say than evangelical Christians. Then it is up to guys like you to do something about it.

@273kelvin Biden is a regulation nut as was Obama. Hell they wanted to regulate or ban almost everything and force us to pay higher taxes as well. Obama had Lorisban insecticide scheduled to be banned when he left office. Trump stopped that ban. When Biden got in he promptly reinstated the ban. Typical of the democrats for wanting too many bans and regulations. I intend to vote for the Republican canadate hopefully not Trump as I’m afraid he will get beat again. However if he were to win he would be far better than we have now.

@Trajan61 OKay I took a brief look at the subject and whilst again I would bow to your inside knowledge the 1st thing I read was that Lorisban is toxic to birds, wildlife and aquatic life. So let us not kid ourselves this is aromatherapy here. It looks like a very heavy-duty insecticide but is no doubt effective. So your freedom to manage your land as you wish could very easily impinge on anothers right to clean water and other environmental issues.
Seems to me the product's days on the shelf were numbered and good govt would have encouraged the manufacturers to develop an alternative. What you got was a ban, no-ban, ban situation that did nothing for the birds or your crops. Again I cannot help but think that a little sensible dialogue might have gone a long way here. Yet another unseen price for divisionist politics.

@273kelvin I’ve sprayed thousands of acres of alfalfa with Lorisban with no problems. I think the government is overreacting and taking a very useful product off of the market which is going to increase production cost. Now that we’ve lost Lorisban we’re having more problems with insects and the replacements for Lorisban are very expensive.

Gee, i dunno, throw a rope over them, like mankind has done ever since we had domesticated livestock?

Have you ever tried roping a 1,200 pound cow or a 2,000 pound bull?

@Trajan61 Why not ask an expert, like, i dunno, a COWBOY? are you Really this stupid? oh...wait.....

@Trajan61 Once again she proves why she's on my ignore list. 😂

Well,, you know,,, just a bunch of fentanyl is okay.... BUT DON't let anyone mix some animal tranquilizer with it.. OHHHH NOOOO... That would be TOO dangerous. 😒 As far as I'm concerned, anyone willing to take any pills off the street these days deserves what happens to them.

I agree. Why mess around with an honest cattleman trying to make a living just because some idiot died because he took pills laced with fentanyl and xylazine. Hell those cattle are a lot easier to rope when they’re laying on the ground asleep!

1

Have you considered the risk of it getting into the human food chain?

They’re not banning it for that reason as the risk is minimal if you follow directions. They’re wanting to ban it because the drug dealers are mixing it with fentanyl.

You're lying again.

[cnn.com]

Why not just imprison the drug dealers who are mixing this drug rather than getting after honest cattlemen out their trying to make a living raising beef.

My vet is telling me if the Biden’s plan on the tranq drug is adopted he will no longer be able to sell it to me to use in dart guns on differcult and straying cattle.

@Trajan61 You said that the Biden administration wanted to ban the drug. That was false.

The literature says that this drug is usually only used for surgical purposes in non-human mammals. There are ideas for other sedatives and tranquilizers available for cattle in the following article.

[nexgenvetrx.com]

@LovinLarge Your the one who is a chronic liar! If you knew anything you’d also know there is no suitable replacement for this drug to use in tranquilizer darts to tranq cattle.

@Trajan61 I've proven that you are a liar repeatedly and again today because the Biden administration has said nothing about banning the drug. Are you lying or are you just senile?

Why would I want to know anything about tranquilizing cattle when we can relegate such an undesirable job to hicks like you. After all, it's not like you'd be competent to do anything that actually mattered.

@LovinLarge You appear to be very brainwashed yourself!

@Trajan61 Whenever you disagree with me, I am certain that I am correct.
