I would immediately recognize the voice of any person related to me that called. If you don’t call me all the time, I wouldn’t give you any money.

Good to be skeptical even when they have the correct name.

My grandsons call me often out of the blue, but it's always a facetime video chat call, so I'd be pretty skeptical if I received just a voice call. I did get an email from each of them recently asking for money for their fun run fundraiser. I recognized the school as theirs, it had their names and photos, and seemed legitimate, sent by my daughter through the "orange ruler" system, so I sent money and got a (you guessed it) video call from my grandsons thanking me for the donation. So, it was luckily legit!

I often get one who claims to work for "bank security" . How lame is that ? They had not even got the wit to find out the name of my bank first.

Yet, I suppose if only one person in a thousand falls for it, they get a pay check at the end of the week.

I've gotten a few calls like that. Often they spoof dial with the number from a local hospital. It's a scam to get money. Next time you get a call like that tell them in a loud voice "Hey boy! You got my money from the last time I bailed you out of jail?"
